a few random things...

cadence_fish: that's strangely appealing! HUFU!!!! *does the hufu dance*

nuka_cola: To properly do the hufu dance, you've got to baste yourself with vegetable broth while you writhe around as if you're being boiled and eaten alive. It's hella fun! I think I'm gonna try it at the next Vortex. Maybe I could start a trend. :D

ANYWAY.

Re: moving stuffs, I have two choices. It seems most movers have a "minimum hours" policy (which makes their advertised $49/hr rate kind of moot), and the cheapest I can get my stuff moved is around $200. I COULD rent a truck and find someone with an H-Class licence to drive it, but I did that last time and it wasn't so effective. So I'm tempted to just shell out the extra cash for the luxury of having someone (or two someones) come and move my stuff. Can anyone recommend any cheap removalists?

My schedule for the next few weeks is as follows:

+ 15-16 July - Harry Potter movie marathon & HBP book collection (eh [info]nuka_cola?)
+ 16 July - [info]bloodfever's birthday celebration!
+ 16/17 July - movies with [info]spawnyone at some point
+ 23rd July - [info]110billion's 21st birthday celebration!
+ 30th July - Moving Day! And Wake The Dead!!
+ 4th August - Sigur Ros (hopefully)
+ 6th August - [info]maz_'s 21st birthday celebration!


I am off home to take pictures of soon-to-be-sold-on-eBay stuffs. Oh, and I feel Oporto's calling me too. *whistles the whistle song*

I was going to finish re-readng OotP on Friday, but I can do that Thursday. Are we going to Gleebooks to get Half-Blood Prince? I haven't pre-ordered because I never decided where to go (since a line party was out) but if we get there EARLY then we should be able to get a copy. I do mean early, though... so we can line up. I'll bring breakfast!

I'll come over Friday night if you want to arrange to rent the DVD's.... We could probably skip the first movie since we've seen it a few times, but we could watch 2 & 3 maybe? Or we can just spend the night reading HP ff. NO SLASH!

why not slash? It's just as believable as some of the het pairings. :P
(Not to mention that Sirius/Remus is just likely as Hermione/Ron AND WE ALL KNOW THAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN)

oh and yeah we can go to Glebe - how early we talking? Cos it might be easier if you come here friday night and then we leave from my place, it's closer. I'll leave it up to you.

It's easier if you come here... because I have so much to do on Friday, and if I go to your place then I'll "lose" about an hour on the train. I'll probably be baking treacle tarts and making pumpkin juice well into Friday afternoon!

Early, well... I guess not too early. Gleebooks is doing that 'Gleewarts Express' thing again, so quite a large chunk of people will be absent until about 8am (I think). But I want to be at Central station by 6:30-7am. There's a city via Granville train that leaves Leumeah at 5:39 and supposedly arrives at Central at 6:39am, and that's probably the train I will catch. If that's too early for you then we can just meet at the bookshop. I want to get there early to see what the line is like, and if it's not too long then maybe there will be a coffee shop open. The book goes on sale at 9:01am!

If we don't go to Glebe we can always go to the George St Dymock's since they are also having a launch party... but I have this feeling that they'll be busier and more crowded, since they're more wellknown, not to mention that a bookshop on George St having a big book launch is much more likely to attract attention for lots of passersby who might not have been planning to go. With Gleebooks we have that window of time while lots of families are on the 'Gleewarts Express' trip (their books are pre-ordered so they don't have to worry!).

haha well if you want to leave later then you can. Too bad we don't have a wheelchair... I could wheel you in so you could sleep. :D~

It's supposed to be $29.95AUD (most likely hardback)

Actually, I don't know if Gleebooks will be selling it for $30 because the RRP for Australia is $45+. Both Borders and Dymocks are selling it for $29.95, and they're both having release parties.

i very much doubt anyone will sell out of harry potter books for the first week :)

friend at work, works for a bookstore and reckons they've got thousands of copies ordered. Most places already have the books sitting out the back they just cant sell them yet :O

haha I'm surprised they haven't been robbed yet. Imagine how much money a person could make selling HBP on ebay before the release date. Well, before they got their asses arrested!
